The application is filed in the Ministry of Labor.
Once the Ministry of Labor sanctions this case then the application is forwarded to Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Foreign affairs allots Visa Authorization number. However, the work visa is issued from Saudi Arabian embassy of the applicant country under the advice of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The selected employee submits an application along with other supporting documents along with job offer letter. The process in the embassy will take about three weeks and on issue of this work visa the employee can travel Saudi Arabia. On reaching there the employee submits application for residence visa or Iqama, but before this medical examination is necessary. Ministry of Labor handover this case to Ministry of Interior to issues Iqama. In the meantime the employer secures work permit from the Ministry of Labor. The Iqama and work permit allow the foreign worker to work and reside legally in this country.
